Hot Metal Forming/Forging
Superior Graphite is the only graphite based forging lubricant manufacturer in North America that produces graphite powders internally. This ability to source high purity synthetic graphite from our ARK® Electrode Production facility and to produce synthetic forms of graphite utilizing our unique thermal purification process in Hopkinsville, KY and Sundsvall, SWEDEN allows our SureCOAT™ products to be consistent, and the most economical available on the market today.

SureCOAT water and oil based graphite lubricants are suspensions proprietary high purity graphitic powders and our internally generated graphite powders designed to provide a highly lubricious surface coating for hot metal forming/forging applications. We work with our customers during testing to modify lubricants on the spot to meet their customized applications, something that our competition can not do with the limited ability to source a wide variety graphite powders.

 
     

Superior’s formulation technology is used to produce products with excellent suspension stability and the ability to form a unique dry film when applied to minimize surface temperature variations. Utilizing select proprietary binder systems, these products are able to withstand temperatures up to 1000ºF.

Aluminium Lubricants
Transition Plate Ring Sealer for Aluminum Billet Casting
Superior offers a SureCOAT( T-Plate Ring Sealer used in Wagstaff casters used around the transition plates and joints to prevent leakage during operation. Formulated with a unique graphite powder, it is typically used with SureCOAT 325-AL and 350-AL products.

Aluminum Extrusion, Forging and Sheet Casting
SureCOAT products for Aluminum applications are water or solvent borne suspensions and colloidals designed work effectively in Wagstaff type casters, forging and billet extrusion applications. The consistent, fine particle size graphite powders used in formulating these products prevent settling of the concentrate while in storage. This also prevents particle agglomerations, thus reducing line plugs and maintenance.

SureCOAT 325-AL: Used to coated the transition plate rings to produce flawless aluminum billets. Used in conjunction with SureCOAT T-Plate Ring Sealer.
